How Can You Make a Difference?
Positive Community is about changing lives….. One child, one family, one school, one community at a time. Know Your Child starts with the individual child and works outwards. You can make a difference. Whether this is to raise much needed money to help others, or a simple act of kindness like organising a team from your local school to mow and tidy an elderly family’s yard. You simply do not know the impact that it will make on yourself, your team, and your community. One kind act has the power to compound and grow exponentially.
Operating in Your Strengths
When you operate in your strengths, and apply it to a cause that is bigger than yourself, life satisfaction and happiness increases. The key here is in your “strengths”. You will be energised, excited and operating as the best possible you. With this foundation you will achieve more and do more, and do it well. Why? Because you are operating in your super powers working in your strengths. This focus turns volunteering into a cause where you “want to” do this, rather than “have to”. If you are a leader, understanding your team’s individual strengths, gives you the ability to align the right people with the right activity. And guess what? When people are being the best person they can be, it is more enjoyable and sustainable for them too. Society is changed one individual at time.
Creating Connections
Positive Community is about connecting people and groups with a need, providing opportunities to make a difference. You or your organisation might have an idea you want to get off the ground. As an educator, you have sewn the seed and the amazing children in your class want to act and do something in their local area. Your idea or service could be exactly what someone else needs or would like to contribute to. Let us know. Thrive@KnowYourChild.com.au
